BRIAN C.

location: New Jersey / NYC

current role: freelancer

education: Kean University

bio: Senior designer with nearly two decades of experience building brand systems across merchandising, marketing, and digital design. I started designing in high school around 2002, creating album covers, flyers, and early print work, continued through college with brochures and promotional materials, and went full-time into professional production and branding with Think D’sign Print in 2012. My work has evolved from hands-on print and apparel into full campaign and digital systems, with a focus on clarity, hierarchy, and restraint. I care about building visual systems that hold up both in the real world and across digital platforms, not just concepts that look good in isolation.

specializations: I focus on building brand identity systems across marketing, campaigns, merchandising, and apparel, with experience in production-ready print, digital and social design, and presentation-based storytelling.

favorite project or client: Building and growing Think D’sign Print from the ground up allowed me to design and execute real-world brand, apparel, and marketing systems at scale, from concept through production, over more than a decade.

American Outlaws NJ was my first large-scale brand project, where I developed a cohesive identity and merch system that held up over multiple years while working with a highly visible national supporter brand.

Tabby’s Place was a nonprofit project focused on creating approachable, trust-driven merchandise and digital assets that supported fundraising and community engagement without feeling overly commercial.

fun facts: Art galleries, alleyway graffiti hunting, cats, exploring new music, and paying way too much attention to typography in public spaces.

Steve Spatucci founded the Society of the Sacred Pixel in February 2024, turning decades of design experience into a space for creative connection. He graduated from the College of New Jersey with a BFA in Graphic Design in the early 1990s and soon began his design career.

His Reddit posts for designers covering careers, portfolios, finding freelance clients, and other popular topics have become the official F.A.Q. of the Graphic Design subreddit, which has 2.8 million members, and have been read millions of times.

Feedback from designers who engaged with these posts inspired Steve to create the Society of the Sacred Pixel, a space where creatives can connect in real time to discuss the craft and career of design.
